Dr. Brendan Fisher has joined the Gund Institute for Ecological Economics as our new Research Associate Professor. He will be based at the UVM campus in Burlington, Vermont.  Brendan comes to the Gund Institute from the World Wildlife Fund, where he was a Senior Program Officer/Ecosystem Services Lead for their Conservation Science program. Brendan will be continuing his research to connect biodiversity conservation, ecosystem services, and human well-being while expanding his research in human behavior and sustainability.  He will also offer courses and ateliers on subjects such as Behavioral Economics and Ecological Economics.

Brendan is an expert in: Ecosystem Services, Land/Seascape Management and Human Welfare, and Human Behavior and Sustainability. He has worked extensively in coastal East Africa and Southeast Asia. Previously, Brendan was a fellow at the University of East Anglia and Princeton University. Brendan earned his PhD in Natural Resources from the University of Vermont (2006), a MSc In Environmental Change and Management from Oxford University (2001) and a BSc., in Civil Engineering from Bucknell University (1998).
