How to Order Computers
Pick one of the LCOM-supported computers to order. COMTS Hardware Options are listed below.
- Create a requisition in PeopleSoft. Look for the Larner College of Medicine Catalog under catalog path. (Instructions.)
- Your order will be delivered to the COMTS offices. COMTS staff will contact the recipient to schedule a time for set up.

The Larner College of Medicine recommends Dell and Microsoft business machines for our computer standards. Dell Latitude for a laptop, and Microsoft Surface Pro laptop/tablets and Dell Optiplex for a desktop.

Recommended Hardware
Desktop
Dell OptiPlex 7020 $1002.00 (Monitors sold separately. See note.)
This is a small factor desktop computer suitable for administrative computing. It features an i5 processor, 16gb of ram, a 512gb SSD hard drive, a Dell Pro wireless keyboard and mouse, and a four-year warranty.
Note: Please order at least one monitor listed below. We suggest ordering the Dell 24-Inch UltraSharp Monitor U2424HE and if a second monitor is required, the Dell 24-inch Ultrasharp Monitor U2424H.

Ideal for administrative computing, Office Applications, and basic 3rd part applications.

A good choice for power users, and frequent travelers who still want a 14-inch laptop.

Monitors
Dell 24-Inch UltraSharp Monitor U2424HE $320.00
This 24-inch monitor comes with a speaker bar and a USB-C Dock. This means you won't need to purchase the Dell WD22TB4 dock if you are getting this monitor.
Dell 24-inch Ultrasharp Monitor U2424H $253.00
Standalone 24-inch monitor, to be paired with the Dell U2424HE (above) as a second display.
Keyboard and Mouse
Dell Pro Wireless Keyboard and Mouse $40.00
Order this if you are a laptop user who will use a docking station in your office and you want an additional keyboard and mouse. This comes bundled with the OptiPlex 7020 desktop computer.
Docking Station
Dell Docking Station WD22TB4 USB-C Dock $230.00
A docking station may be used to connect a laptop to external monitors, keyboard, mouse, network and other peripherals.
Please Note: You may also use the monitor Dell Ultrasharp U2424HE, which also features the ability to act as a dock for your laptop. If you are planning on purchasing external monitors, you might consider this monitor in place of a dock.
For those replacing a computer: If you currently have a Dell docking station and you are purchasing a new laptop, you will need to purchase Dell’s new WD22TB4 USB-C Dock If you plan on using monitors you currently have, contact the COMTS Service Center via Footprints, by visiting the Larner Learning Commons or by calling 802-488-5553 to see if you need adapters or new connection cables. Please order your computer in the meantime.

How do I go about ordering a printer? | The University has a contract for copiers/printers with a local business. | Individual printers will not be supported by COMTS technicians. Network printers are more energy-efficient and cost-effective. |
