“Arts to stir hearts --- performance art and performance science” --- NPR

Featuring the Fry Street Quartet and physicist Dr. Robert Davies, Rising Tide: The Crossroads Project is a feature-length cinematic performance with live score that fuses powerful original music, classical quartet repertoire, evocative imagery, and compelling science that explores nature, humanity, and the paths that lie before us. Confronting a planet under siege and a future in peril, the Crossroads Project creates live performance experiences that address global sustainability and provide a path toward meaningful response. With an original score by composer Laura Kaminsky as well as music by Haydn and Janáček, the Fry Street Quartet provides the backdrop to a compelling film and expert scientific storytelling by Dr. Davies. The Lane Series is thrilled to collaborate with the Vermont Humanities on this performance as part of their 48th Annual Fall Conference entitled, “This Mazed World:” The Humanities and Climate Change. Throughout the month of October, this critical theme will be approached through various humanities lenses to help us make sense of our changing world.
