Campus Climate Survey

How do you feel being part of the UVM community? The Campus Climate Survey helps us understand the perceptions and experiences of students and employees and gives us the data needed to make and measure progress related to Inclusive Excellence.

Comprehensive Inclusive Excellence Action Plan

This data-driven strategic plan is the result of assessment, data collection, and planning from stakeholders across the university. This comprehensive plan maps out five years of work across our institution that embeds inclusive excellence into every aspect of what we do.

Gender Inclusive Restrooms at UVM

Many individuals benefit from accessible, gender-inclusive restrooms, including people who are trans, caregivers or accompanying young children, or who have disabilities. UVM supports the option of individuals to use the restroom that meets their individual needs or in which they feel safest.

H. Lawrence McCrorey Award for Inclusive Excellence

Given every year at the Andrew Harris Legacy Reception, this award recognizes a faculty or staff member of color who demonstrates a commitment to Inclusive Excellence for those from underrepresented and marginalized backgrounds and whose work perpetuates equity, justice, and inclusion.

Henderson-Harris Fellowship Program

The Henderson-Harris Fellowship Program, offered in cooperation with academic departments, sponsors post-doctoral scholars who can help to advance UVM’s research and teaching goals and assist in reaching identified diversity goals, especially with respect to the specific academic curricula.

Land Acknowledgement

Crafted with thoughtful input from the Vermont Commission on Native American Affairs, UVM established a board-approved Land Acknowledgement in the Fall of 2022.

Lived names and pronouns

UVM strives to create and sustain a campus environment that supports and values all members of our community and honors this through opting to identify pronouns and the use of a lived name in most records and systems.

University Diversity Council

The UDC intentionally and actively engages all campus units in support of meaningful advancements related to diversity, equity and inclusion while ensuring greater accountability across our community.
