Growth within the park has taken on a certain organic quality. Though much of the park was laid out in narrow, shallow lots suitable for the small trailers of the 1940s and 1950s, very little other site planning has been implemented. Unlike many resort parks or more modern parks, Farrington's has very few design restrictions.46

Residents have, for many years, built a variety of highly individual additions to their homes. The small lot sizes have also made Farrington's unique in another respect; the narrow lots are often too small for bigger, more modern trailers. Park space is at such a premium that many parks residents continue to occupy vintage trailers rather than abandon the space. Farrington's today covers most of the 10 acres of the property.

The trailers are very densely packed in the park and the homeowners have taken to putting up fences, planting shrubs and placing storage sheds to delineate their lots. There are lots of cars in the park, many of which must be parked on the sides of the roads. This causes further friction between the crowded neighbors who have become territorial about their street frontage.
