Counseling Staff

Lindsay Foreman (they/them) is a full-time counselor at CAPS. Lindsay received their MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Vermont and is currently working towards licensure as a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Clinician. Lindsay has extensive experience as a mindfulness teacher and previously coordinated the UVM Mindfulness Program.

Lindsay meets students, first and foremost, as a fellow human who understands that life is challenging. They believe that doing therapeutic work to heal, grow, and make changes takes a lot of courage, patience, and support. They are here to walk with students on their journey and to offer deep listening, presence, and compassion.  They also believe that therapy can be fun, and that humor can be healing. Lindsay works to create a warm, welcoming, and relaxed atmosphere where clients can show up as their full selves. Based on their lived experience as a queer, non-binary person with an invisible disability, Lindsay believes that individual healing and social liberation are bound up together. Therefore, their approach considers individual, relational, and systemic factors. In their personal and professional life, they are committed to doing their part to disrupt and eliminate racism, anti-fat bias, ableism, transphobia and all forms of oppression. Lindsay supports students with a wide range of issues and has a particular interest in the areas of: identity development, self-esteem/worth, spirituality/spiritual questioning, eco/existential anxiety, interpersonal relationship issues, attachment/family dynamics and loneliness/belonging.  To listen to Lindsay's guided meditations you can check out https://soundcloud.com/mindfulnessuvm.
