Recovery from substance use is a transformational experience best supported within community. If you are in recovery from substance use, considering recovery, or using a harm reduction approach to shift your relationship with substances, these resources are for you.

Catamount recovery resources offer a variety of services to support your experience at UVM as a student in recovery:

On-Campus Recovery Housing

Located near the Catampount Recovery Lounge and available for students with a minimum of six months of abstinence-based recovery, Recovery Housing is optional and available for students living on campus. Priority Registration

With an approved accommodation through Student Accessibility Services (SAS), students in recovery can have access to registration 30 minutes early. To receive information about priority registration email recovery@uvm.edu.

Collaboration with Student Accessibility Services (SAS)

Students in recovery have access to SAS to apply for an accommodation to support them in their academic pursuits. To contact SAS please email access@uvm.edu.

Academic Class - HDF 031 Exploring Development through Community

HDF 031 is a 1-credit course led by a licensed drug and alcohol counselor. The class is focused on problem solving through community while also helping to strengthen the connection between students on their recovery journies. Therapeutic Recovery Group

A licensed drug and alcohol counselor will facilitate a weekly therapeutic group which supports students as they navigate their life in recovery. To express interest in joining the Therapeutic Recovery Group please contact Counseling and Psychiatry Services at 802-656-3340 for a group screen.

Connection to Community Supports
