Methods

  • Past Methods (no longer in use)
    • Twig and soil gas samples
      • Started: 1995-06-09
        Ended: 1995-06-11
      • Method Description: Balsam fir twig samples and soil gas samples were collected at 5 different elevations along the Halfway House Trail. Foliage twigs from 20-30 foot height were collected and placed in glass vials. Two samples of ambient air were collected. The soil gas samples were taken using a battery-powered constant-volume type pump attached to a plastic tube and tenax-filled tube type trap with a stainless steel probe with small holes that was poked into soil at about 20 sm depth.

Sampling Equipment

  • Pole pruners, altimeter, traps, soil probe
    • Started: 1995-06-09
      Ended: 1995-06-11
    • Sampling Description: Pole pruners. Altimeter. Tenax-filled traps attached to constant volume type pump and stainless steel soil probe.

Site Characteristics

  • Site Description: West slope of Mt. Mansfield at five elevations: 2050, 2590, 3050, 3620, and 3850.
