Sustainable Campus Fund Info Session & Workshop

Sep 19, 2023
5:00 pm to 6:30 pm
Davis Center 422 (Jost Foundation Room)

The goal of this event is to demystify the Sustainable Campus Fund for students. Come learn how you can access this unique funding source for campus projects. Stay to brainstorm ideas together or get feedback on one of your own!

The event is run by student members of SRIAC ¿ the group that makes proposal decisions. They will share their perspective on what makes a good proposal idea, what the proposal entails (it¿s easier than you think!) what to expect in the presentation phase, how decisions are made and how long the whole process takes. Even if you aren¿t interested in submitting a proposal, come to eat pizza and learn more about how your student fees are used and how you can weigh in on proposal ideas.

Did we mention FREE PIZZA?!

The Sustainable Campus Fund was created by students with a vision of enhancing a culture of sustainability, innovation, and research on campus through a self-imposed $10 per semester fee for all students, generating about $230,000 annually in funds that are available for students to use to make UVM more sustainable. The priority of the fund is to support campus projects that reduce the University¿s impact on climate and the environment by preparing for and making the necessary changes at UVM to address the climate crisis. Funds can be used for sustainability topics including renewable energy, energy and water efficiency, transportation, recycling and waste reduction, purchasing practices, food, agriculture, environmental justice and more.

Price: Free event. RSVPs appreciated for pizza order but not required: https://forms.office.com/r/3QGeN65iRW
