Concert Band

The Fall performance of the UVM Concert Band features music from around the world: "Arabesque" uses Middle Eastern scales, rhythms, and structures; folk music and music from the Eastern Orthodox Church form the basis of "Russian Christmas Music" while the composer of "Rikudim" wrote original music that is based on Israeli folk dances (again using based on authentic Middle Eastern scales); finally, "Howl's Moving Castle" is a medley of music from one of the most famous Japanese anime films.
