Autism Goes to College is a podcast series featuring the voices of neurodiverse students, sharing insights about how they experience college.  We will be listening to episode 9, “When Professors are Helpful, It Really Helps.” It's about how one student’s visits to office hours helped both her and her professor figure out strategies to address her initial struggles in a research and methods class. Cal State Fullerton student, Caroline, and childhood and adolescent development professor, JudelMay Enriquez, discuss their experience and ways that instructors can reach out to students on the spectrum.

Join us for a discussion of the book Inclusive Teaching: Strategies for Promoting Equity in the College Classroom (Sathy and Hogan, 2022). This book group builds on Sathy and Hogan's visit to UVM earlier this fall and provides an opportunity to dig deeper into the book's practical strategies for welcoming all students, fostering a sense of belonging, and enhancing peer and student-teaching relationships.  Sathy and Hogan's framework emphasizes how structuring instruction and transparent communication with students builds equity and inclusion.  In addition, address how documenting your experiences can support your growth as reflective instructor.
