Teams Troubleshooting – Registration Closed
RemoteAre you using Teams to meet with your class? If so, you're invited to join us for this troubleshooting session. Bring your questions or problems related to teaching with Teams, and staff from ETS and the CTL will be there to discuss them and help you find solutions.
Team Time: Learn about Breakout Rooms
Microsoft TeamsBreakout rooms, created on-the-fly, are finally here for Teams meetings. In this informal Teams practice session, you’ll have the opportunity to learn about how to create breakout rooms and how the settings options will affect your students’ experiences. Each participant in the workshop will have the opportunity to “host” a meeting with breakout rooms, including practice creating manually or automatically enrolled groups, moving people from one group to another, renaming groups, sending messages to all groups, and moving between breakout rooms.

Teaching with YellowDig: Meet up, Share, Learn
Microsoft TeamsIf you’re using YellowDig this semester, join your colleagues to trade stories, tips, and tricks, and to ask questions about how it’s going. This informal session is a space for YellowDig users to compare notes. We’ll have some experienced YellowDig users on hand, and the conversation will help us all understand more of what YellowDig makes possible and what future support YellowDig instructors might need.

Microsoft TeamsFaculty life in a pandemic is anything but normal. Check-in with colleagues in an informal, supportive conversation about the unique challenges of managing a pandemic semester with individual choices shaped by systemic barriers.
Tests and Quizzes: Creating, Giving, and Grading Them in Blackboard
Microsoft TeamsIn this workshop, we'll show how to set up a test, create questions, deploy it so students can take it, view results, and grade it. After covering the basics, we'll cover how to import test questions (from a Word file or from other tests) and build randomized question sets so students get different versions of the test.
Establishing Empathetic Presence in Online, Writing-Intensive Courses
Microsoft TeamsThis workshop looks at how an empathetic social presence supports student learning in remote and online courses. We’ll look at strategies for creating instructor-student connection, examining the limits of these strategies as well as their possibilities. With attention to managing instructors’ own boundaries and time, we’ll look at teaching practices and ways of responding to student work that cultivate empathy and rapport.
