Katie's research interests encompass the measurement of discourse-level communication and disorders, the interpersonal dynamics of conversational behavior such as entrainment, turn-taking, and conversational repair, as well as communication strategies that enhance participation and outcomes in healthcare treatments. Her ongoing research is focused on establishing norms and creating tools for the clinical assessment of cognitive-communication impairments. She possesses a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP).
