Professor Emerita

Christine Griffin completed her undergraduate and graduate degrees in medical laboratory science from the University of Vermont and joined the department in 1988. Her primary area of teaching is in the medical laboratory sciences. She is responsible for the medical laboratory science clinical internship courses that include chemistry, hematology, immunohematology, microbiology, and phlebotomy. She has also taught several of the undergraduate courses offered by the department, and serves as the coordinator of the medical laboratory science post-baccalaureate certificate program. Prior to her position as faculty, she served as clinical faculty in the department and taught UVM students in the clinical laboratory setting at The University of Vermont Medical Center. She understands the importance of excellent communication with the clinical sites and the university, and provides this vital link for the medical laboratory science program. Chris also focuses her efforts on recruitment for the department, college, university, and other health career-related organizations that promote public awareness and education for a quality healthcare workforce. She has provided many laboratory experiences for prospective students interested in medical laboratory science.
