The Medical Diagnostics minor is designed for undergraduate students who are interested in the study of the principles and mechanisms of medical diagnostics, in particular clinical laboratory diagnostics.

Program Overview

Upon completing this minor, students aiming for careers in health care, particularly those seeking entry into professional schools for medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, or related graduate programs including physician assistant studies, will possess a foundational knowledge base to aid in the diagnosis, monitoring, and research of human diseases. This minor offers fundamental understanding in clinical laboratory techniques, as well as the skills to interpret and evaluate laboratory data, comprehending its application in clinical decision-making. It is open to students from all majors, except those majoring in Medical Laboratory Science.
