BIO

Broadly, my research addresses drug use from a behavioral framework and uses a variety of research methodologies including randomized controlled trials, meta-analysis, fine-grained longitudinal research, and cross-sectional surveys. My primary focus is on improving treatment and policy to address nicotine addiction. This includes research on 1) interventions for dual users of e-cigarettes and combusted cigarettes and 2) tobacco treatment for adults who smoke cigarettes and express little or no motivation to quit. Additionally, my research addresses addiction treatment among people who are incarcerated, with a specific focus on medications for opioid use disorder (MOUD) in Vermont’s correctional facilities.
