Program Overview

The philosophy minor, like the major, offers multiple options to gain a strong grounding in philosophy, without fulfilling the full range of requirements of the major. The minor requires 18 credits or six three-credit courses in the discipline. Students must take one course in history of philosophy, one course at the intermediate level (2000-level), and one course at the advanced level (3000-level). A philosophy minor complements and is often combined with other majors in the College of Arts and Sciences, including psychology, political science, economics, religion, mathematics, and physics.
