UVM students are finding it easy and advantageous to continue their education during the summer. Summer University offers an opportunity to focus on core requirements or explore new areas of interest. The College of Arts and Sciences offers a total of over 100 online courses in just about every discipline, affording students the option to study from home.

Classes are offered to undergraduates, graduate students, high school students, or working or retired professionals. Registration for Summer University courses began March 2.

Advantages for summer study at UVM include:

  • Over 500 total course offerings allow students to complete core requirements for their major or minor, stay academically engaged through the summer, or simply take a class for fun.
  • Summer tuition is 30% less than academic-year tuition. Classes are small, and most are taught by full-time UVM faculty members.
  • For students living in Burlington this summer, or for those who live within easy commuting distance, many classes take place on the UVM campus.
  • With staggered sessions in May, June, and July, courses are sequenced so students can take several courses consecutively. For instance, students looking to finish their minor in psychology can take several 3-credit psychology courses in three different sessions throughout the summer.
