Why create an employee handbook for your farm?

This January 2024 online workshop featured panel of experienced Vermont farmers who describes how and why their employee handbooks have helped finding and retaining employees, establishing and maintaining team morale and overall farm efficiency. The panel also shared lessons learned over the years and tips on writing and improving employee handbooks. 

Panelist included Hank Bissell, Lewis Creek Farm, Starksboro; Lisa MacDougall, Mighty Food Farm, Shaftsbury, and Eugenie Doyle-Burr, Last Resort Farm, Monkton. Hosted by Hans Estrin. The session was hosted by the Vermont Vegetable and Berry Growers Association.
