Vermont Green Building Network, the Vermont chapter of the US Green Building Council, is an networking, educational and advocacy non-profit organization that promotes green building and design practices. I had to opportunity to attend the Better Buildings By Design Conference that was put on by VGBN, which was attended by many companies and people interested in various sectors of green building and design. I was assigned various projects that aimed to facilitate future steps that the committee and board were planning to tackle. My first task was to organize expired and expiring memberships from an online membership list into spreadsheets so that the board was able to seek membership-renewals. My Second task was to research and consolidate a list of grant-funding organizations that were appropriate in scale, values, and missions. My third task was to investigate and report the feasibility and steps needed to create an Emerging Professionals program, which are branch committees of various USGBC chapters . I attended a conference call with the EP director as to talk about how to best tackle this process.
