To join the bible list, send e-mail to:
listserv@list.uvm.edu
and put the subscribe command as the first line of your message along with the list name and your first and last name. Some examples:
sub bible Henry Somebody
sub bible Joan A. R. Person
sub bible Tom Lee III

Once you are on, you may send a message to everyone on the list by sending e-mail to:
bible@list.uvm.edu

To leave the bible list, send e-mail to listserv@list.uvm.edu and put the signoff command (unsub will also work) as the first line of your message with the list name. For example:
signoff bible

To see the past messages sent to the list (the list archives), use these commands:
index bible (to see what files are available)
get bible log9705 (e.g. to get the 1997 May monthly file)
search meeting in bible (e.g. to get a list (or index) of the message numbers containing the word "meeting")
getpost bible 2 4 6-9 (e.g. get the actual message(s), by number, found in the above search command)

Also, be sure to turn off automatic signature generation in your mailer - Listserv won't understand your signature lines and will just give you error messages.

Listserv will require you to confirm your subscribe and unsubscribe requests and will send you directions on how to do that.

 Finally, don't use your mailer's confirmation of reading or auto-reply features, these not understood by Listserv.
