Reading For Next Week
The reading for next week is explained on the syllabus. In addition to the Biblical reading, please also read the short essay on tragedy that is on the course website.

The Midterm
There will be a two-part midterm for the course: a short in-class series of identifications that you will take at the end of next Wednesday’s class (March 3), and a take-home essay that I’ll hand out that same day. The identifications will be drawn from all the reading you have done to date (including the reading from The Bible as Literature) but will draw most heavily from the material we have covered in class. Included in the identifications will be names of characters, places, terms, etc. You will have some choice of things to identify. The take-home part of the exam will be consist of one essay question; it will be due Monday, March 8 IN CLASS.

Office Hours
My daugher is ill today, and I need to be home with her this afternoon, so office hours this week will be moved to tomorrow--Thursday--afternoon from 2-5.  Sorry for any inconvenience.
