Class Announcements Week of January 20

Books
I have asked the Bookstore to order more of the recommended texts for the class. Please let me know after class today if you are interested in those books but did not find them on the shelves--I have to give the Bookstore an approximate number to order by early next week.

On Reserve
At the reserve desk in Bailey-Howe are the following books:

Gabel, York, Wheeler, The Bible as Literature
Approaches to the Bible Volumes I and II (this was the only one of the recommended books I ordered that the library owned)
Robert Alter, The Art of Biblical Narrative
Karen Armstrong, In The Beginning: A New Interpretation of Genesis
Elaine Pagels, Adam, Eve, and the Serpent
Elaine Pagels, The Origin of Satan

There are, of course, thousands of other books about the Bible in the stacks. You will find most of them under the call letters "BS"--go figure.

Locks and Keys

9:05 section
Group A: Baldwin to Fenton
Group B: Grimes to Zomick

10:10 section
Group A: Anderson to Izzo
Group B: Koloszyc to Zaks

The first set of Locks and Keys will be handed in by Group A on Friday, February 5. Group B will hand their first set in the next week, on Friday, February 12. We will continue alternating each Friday for the rest of the term (each person will have handed in six Locks and Keys by the end of the semester). Again, Locks and Keys should be a page--single-spaced, 12pt font.

We will work on Locks and Keys as a class next week. Keep track of them in your reading of Genesis 1-25.
