"I always do well on labs; I understand the material and feel prepared for the exam. Then I bomb it. It's so frustrating! I need help learning how to take multiple choice exams."
"I was just getting into my studying when one of my friends dropped by and persuaded me to go downtown for just a few hours. He said he'd taken the course and could tell me all I'd need to know. I guess he didn't do so well either. I need help learning how to balance my social life with my academic responsibilities."
"Other students don't seem to spend as much time reading as I do. And they get better grades. Last night I sat at the library for three hours trying to read two chapters in my textbook. I couldn't tell you one third of what I read! I need help learning how to concentrate and understand what I need to know!"
"I really can't pay attention in such a big lecture hall. I feel tired the minute I sit down. I need help learning how to be active and alert in such a passive environment."
