What still stands from between 1869 and 1877 in Burlington, Vermont?
This structure is a north facing two-story, gable front with an offset front façade entrance. The building survives a number of changes to the front façade including an altered front porch and additions to the rear of the structure[1]. There was a one-story addition by 1890 to the rear that does not appear on the 1877 image of the building.
There is little known of the residents prior to 1884, there was no name listed on the 1869 Beers Atlas Map, George Hackett an employee of Central Vermont Rail Road resided at 7 Poplar Street along with Charles Hackett. In 1890 the property was listed as owned by W. P. Quann[2], who could only be William P. Quinn[3], an employee of J. H. Gates with whom he had previously boarded. After 1900, the property was home to many different laborers and skilled workers[4].
