What still stands from between 1869 and 1877 in Burlington, Vermont?
This structure remains largely unchanged for the last century, but changes did occur relatively early in the history of this structure. The building appears as a two-story gable front 2 bay wide house facing west near the corner of Manhattan Drive in 1877 [1] . By 1890, the structure had received its ell-wing and the side porch both on the south facade of the structure.
The first occupant of the structure was Michael Sullivan [2] an employee of Shepard, Davis and Company, along with Thomas Sullivan an employee of Bronsons, Weston, Greene & Company. In 1890, the property was owned by Mrs. M. Sullivan [3] and later by Lawrence Sullivan, who was possibly her son. The Sullivan Family occupied this house continuously well past the 1930s [4] . The property has not been lived in by another family for a longer period of time than the Sullivan's since.
