What still stands from between 1869 and 1877 in Burlington, Vermont?

Back to North Champlain Street

160 North Champlain Street

This structure stands west-facing between Cedar Street and North Street.  This structure appears to have the same facade as the building depicted on the 1877 Birds Eye View Map.  The structure is a two-story, gable front with an offset front facade entrance.  By 1890 [1] , the building had an addition to the rear, to which later additions appear to have been made [2] .

The owner of the property in 1869 was N. Moore, but no such individual is listed in the city directories.  In 1890, Mrs. B. Moore [3] owned the property , but her name is not listed in the city directories either.  The first known occupant of the house was Octave Lambert [4] by 1902 until after 1912, when the house began to change hands often [5] .
