What still stands from between 1869 and 1877 in Burlington, Vermont?
The structure is a north facing two-story, gable front single bay wide, with a side entrance located on the east facade. The building today appears to be little altered from its appearance in 1877 [1] . Porches have been added to the rear addition and later enclosed. The historic survey [2] of the building dates its construction c. 1880, stating it a "well-preserved vernacular structure". The building seems to have been altered little since this description was written.
The early history of this house indicates that it was built on the property of George Duff whose property faced North Street. The first mention of the property that faces Myrtle Street, which was subdivided from that of George Duff was in 1877 [3] . The first known occupant was Daniel Mullen, a laborer. Miss Maggie Mulliens, a dressmaker, took up shop and residence at this address along with Daniel Mullen in 1879 [4] . Miss Margaret and Margaret Mullen [5] , widow of Daniel, remained in residence at this address well into the next century. Miss Margaret remained there into the 1930s when the house changed hands.
