MARRIED Samuel Peasley Towle.  The son of Caleb Towle and Judith Peasley, he was born 12 March 1801 in Sutton, Merrimack County, NH, and died 1890.

2.       Ezra W. Towle, b. 26 August 1827, Rochester, VT, d. 26 November 1895 in Nevada City, CA, m. Sabra Jones, 05 October 1870 in Rochester, VT.

3.       Walter R. Towle, b. 23 February 1832, d. 10 January 1913, m. Francis E. Taylor.  Resided in Kootenai County, ID. Children: Edwin; Harry; Nettie, wife of W. N. Shawver res. KS; Minnie, wife of John Mawhirter, res. KS; Chapin; and Lillian, wife of Arthur Shawver, res. KS.  Walter Towle traveled via the Isthmus to San Francisco, Ca in 1854, where he mined for gold until 1862.  Served as a sergeant in Company G of the 4th California Infantry from 1862-1866.  He farmed in Iowa from until 1878, and then in Kansas until 1898, at which time he moved to Idaho.  An Idaho gazetteer published in 1903 described him as: “a venerable and highly respected citizen of Kootenai County, living about one-half mile east from Kootenai, where he has a good home, a fine orchard and does a general gardening business. He is a man of substantial qualities and of a stanch character, possessing many virtues and displaying integrity, uprightness, and wisdom.”
