The 8th Conference, sponsored by Yunnan University
and the University of Vermont and assisted by Yale University, University of
Hawaii, City University of New York, Portland State University, and Foreign
Language Teaching and Research Press, aims to continue to promote academic communication and cooperation among teachers and scholars of Chinese as a
foreign language inside and outside China. The 8th
Conference welcomes Chinese language teachers and scholars to submit papers (in Chinese or English) in the following areas:

Those who intend to present a paper at the Conference should submit a one page abstract online before December 1, 2009. The paper abstract submission website
address will be announced in the next announcement. The reviewing team formed by the Organizing Committee members will review the paper
abstracts
anonymously and will
also notify the paper abstract submitters of the status of their paper abstracts by January 31, 2010.
Those whose paper abstracts are accepted will need to submit their completed papers (no more than 4 pages) by April 1, 2010 in order to be included in the
conference proceedings and to be selected for a selected edition of conference
papers. The Conference Committee reserves the right
to review
a completed paper
again if it is drastically different from its original paper abstract. The paper format and style requirements and the information on conference fees and hotel rooms will soon be provided at the 8th
International Conference on Chinese Language Pedagogy website: www.uvm.edu/~chinese/conference2010
