Outdoor Experience | Residential Life | The University of Vermont(title)

Inspiring a love for nature and adventure while promoting environmental stewardship through outdoor exploration, education, and community engagement.

Our Values

Belonging

Whether hiking through rugged terrain, camping beneath starlit skies, or simply taking a moment to breathe in the fresh air, the outdoors offers a sanctuary where all are welcome. Through outdoor activities, excursions, and workshops, we foster a sense of belonging and camaraderie.

Experience

It's right there in the name-- OE is all about getting out there and getting your hands dirty. Whether it's your first time or your hundredth time, we provide opportunities for students to get first-hand experience in tons of outdoor adventures like rock climbing, sailing, winter hiking, and more!

Impact

Being aware of our impact on nature is not just about minimizing harm; it's about cultivating a deep respect and understanding of our planet. Throughout all of our programming, we emphasize stewardship and respect for the land so it can be preserved for generations to come.
