Mrs. Jerome Brault, who with her husband, helped to start Farrington's Trailer Park, recalls that she and her husband arrived in Burlington in the winter of 1943. Originally from Quebec Province in Canada, the newlyweds had been living in Connecticut where Mr. Brault was employed in defense work at Pratt-Whitney. When they had arrived in Connecticut in 1941 or 1942, the young couple could not find any suitable or affordable place to live. They got the idea of living in a trailer from other workers who were living in trailer communities surrounding the plant. The Braults purchased a 1942 Alma, 20' x 8' and set up housekeeping. But Mr. Brault decided that he didn't care for the damp climate in Connecticut and the couple moved north again.
