Research Specialist

Anna moved to Vermont from Santa Cruz, California in 2020 to pursue a Master’s degree in Plant and Soil Science at UVM. She earned a BA in biology and environmental studies from UC Santa Cruz and worked in researching and implementing alternative methods to soil fumigation for pathogen management in organic strawberry production in central CA. She has several years of experience working in a hemp and cannabis testing laboratory, where she gained extensive experience with analytical chemistry instrumentation and analysis. Anna joined the UVM Extension NWCS team during the summer of 2022 while wrapping up her Master’s thesis, which focused on soil pathogen management on organic vegetable farms in Vermont. Her role at NWCS focuses on agronomic, production, and market optimization research for grain crops in the Northeast.
