About Our Offerings

View and Register for Classes
Body

Viewing Classes

UVM employees can view all the active upcoming classes on the Talent Development Calendar. Search for upcoming classes either by Calendar or List views. Registering for classes is as simple as clicking on the “Register” link next to each offering. Please note you must be logged in with your UVM NetID to view the calendar. By clicking on a course, you will see more information about the session, including title, speakers, description, modality, format, category, start time, duration, and location.

Important Note: To view the calendar and register for events, you must login with your UVM NetID. If you primarily use a med.uvm.edu email, you may need to log out of your Microsoft account and log back in with your UVM NetID and in some instances, clear your browser's cache. You may wish to use a private browser/incognito tab to bypass that process.

How to Register

By clicking on the “Register” link on the calendar, you will be taken to a registration page providing more course details and any additional questions needed to register.

Once you have registered, you will get a confirmation email along with an Outlook calendar invite that includes meeting details. Prior to the event, you will also receive a reminder email. Any changes to the event will result in additional automatic updates. The calendar event will be updated with the online meeting link (if virtual) at the time of the event.

Eligibility
Body

All UVM employees with active UVM NetIDs can register for Professional Development and Training classes. This includes temporary employees who have a NetID.

Supervisors may register new employees for their New Employee Orientation with their PeopleSoft ID Number (Employee ID) via Manager Self Service. Supervisors wishing to enroll direct reports in bulk to any other webinar or course offering should email develop@uvm.edu.

Waitlists
Body

A certain number of particpants are established for each class based on the resources available.

If someone drops out of the session and you are next on the waitlist, you will automatically be enrolled and notified via email. The email will include a confirmation of your enrollment and a link to the course.

Please go through the registration process before attending any course. You may enroll in another section of the class if you are on a waitlist. Please be mindful of canceling any additional enrollments if you do come off the waitlist so that your spot can be opened up for someone else.

Accessibility
Body

Teams Webinar comes with Real Time Caption and Transcription as well and can also be made available for CART (Communication Access Realtime Translation) Services.

Arrangements can be made for employees with disabilities who may require auxiliary aids, services, or other reasonable accommodations in order to view this website effectively or to participate in training sessions. Please email develop@uvm.edu to discuss your accessibility needs.

Class Cancellation Policy
Body

Professional Development and Training asks all employees registering for a class to be mindful of space limitations on certain classes. If circumstances prevent you from attending a class you have registered for, please email develop@uvm.edu and delete or decline the event in Outlook or via your Teams calendar. Your registration will be cancelled and the organizer will be notified of your change in status.

Note: Attendance at UVM Professional Development and Training classes is generally considered work time. Absence necessitated by illness, vacation, or personal business also means you are not available for class. If you have been excused from your regular UVM job because of illness, vacation, or personal leave, whether paid or unpaid, then you may not attend Professional Development and Training classes.

Completion Records
Body

After you complete a training your record of completion will be added to PeopleSoft and can be viewed under PeopleSoft (Human Resources Login) and clicking the "UVM Learning + Degrees" icon and then navigating to the “My Training Summary” page. All internal courses you have completed will be viewable.

Please note: That the courses may take up to two weeks to show up within PeopleSoft after the date of completion.
