A moving love story that spans decades in an instant – from marriage, children, skydiving, and the infinite moments that make a life together.

“This well-written portrayal of smart women finding, losing, and finding themselves and each other again, is profound…past, present, and future are contained in each moment, and every one of them feels full.” —The New Yorker.

Please Note: There is NO late seating. Performances begin promptly at the scheduled start time. Due to the intimate setting, there is NO READMITTANCE if you leave your seat. NO exceptions.

Saturday, October 28, 2023 - 2pm
Fleming Museum of Art Marble Court
NOTE: Limited availability. Please email theatreanddance@uvm.edu to make a reservation

Creating and performing in the Fleming Museum’s Marble court, UVM dance students and dance Lecturer Julie Peoples-Clark, will explore feelings of isolation, the sensation of touch and human connection. Creative research will explore kinesthetic responses as we leave isolation and welcome touch and connection back into our lives post pandemic.
The explorations will culminate in a site performance that uses the Fleming’s Marble Court as a dance partner, weaving the unique space into the finished work.
Local artist and music producer RicoJames will provide the musical score. The live score will premiere on opening night for the audience and for the dancers.

Imogen Says Nothing
The Annotated Life of Imogen of Messina, last sighted in the First Folio of
William Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing
By Aditi Brennan Kapil
Directed by Margo Whitcomb
Performances will be November 8 - 11 at 7:30PM & November 12 at 2:00PM
Royall Tyler Theatre

Imogen Says Nothing is a revisionist comedy in verse and prose featuring Imogen, a character who only appears in the First Folio of William Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing, speaks no lines, and is probably a typo. Wildly theatrical and subversively funny, Imogen Says Nothing is the tale of an unforgettable woman who will not give up letting her voice be heard and her story told.

Royall Tyler Theatre

Somewhere in America, an army of pre-teen competitive dancers plots to take over the world. And if their new routine is good enough, they’ll claw their way to the top at Nationals in Tampa Bay. A play about ambition, growing up, and how to find our souls in the heat of it all.

It’s a brave, visceral, excitingly off-kilter barbaric yawp of a play. And it gets at something excruciatingly tender: the burden of modesty on young American women.” – New York Magazine

Dance Nation is recommended for audiences 14 years of age and older. Parental Discretion is advised.
