A new way to evaluate your internship experience.

The College of Arts & Sciences has partnered with SkillSurvey to help students better evaluate their career-related skills after completing an internship or experiential learning program.

Looking for the survey? Check your email! Each student in a course utilizing SkillSurvey will be sent their own unique survey via email mid-way through the semester. Likewise, your site supervisor will also be sent a unique link via email.

Didn't recieve a link? Reach out to CAS Internship & Experiential Learning Coordinator, Kelly Smith for help.

What is the benefit of this new system?

Unlike standalone end-of-semester self evaluation surveys and supervisor evaluation surveys, SkillSurvey provides each student with a comprehensive "Career Readiness Report" that compares student & supervisor evaluations against national data. This helps students understand what skills they may need to improve, what they excelled at, and identify areas of future interest.

These reports can be taken with the student to future endeavors, attached to their LinkedIn pages, or used in future applications.

What competencies are being evaluated?

SkillSurvey uses eight of the NACE Career Readiness Competencies as the basis of its algorithm. NACE is the National Association for Colleges and Employers, which means their data and areas of focus are tied directly back to what employers today are looking for in new hires. While slightly different than the CAS Core Competencies, the UVM Career Center utilizes the NACE Competencies in their programming and informational materials.

If you're a faculty member looking to use SkillSurvey in your course, please reach out to Kelly Smith, CAS Internship & Experiential Learning Program Coordinator for more information.
