Academic Service-Learning

Through various courses, students engage in academic service-learning activities where they contribute to (serve) their communities at the same time as they learn through serving--about human development, local communities; social problems; social, economic, political, and cultural institutions & environments; relationships & families; and themselves as developing individuals, community members, and professionals.

3.  Students' Additional/Related Experiences: Through other courses and program-related activities, students have taken on a variety of service-related projects; we annually engage as a team in the Youth Corps' Serve-A-Thon. (For select photos, click here!)
Organizations served through this activity so far include: One other example comes from a specific class that demonstrates this is HDFS 167: Sexual Identities.
